Last minute disappointment for the Pedlars

A great performance last Tuesday at home to Saffron Walden Town, deserving a point at least, the Pedlars yet again on the wrong side of Lady Luck, the visitors scoring in the dying minutes. Keeper Dan Gentry denying them a second in added time, a great penalty save, getting down low to his right hand side, strong hands blocking the free shot. Further disappointment on the night was the attitude and behaviour of the Saffron Walden supporters towards the Swaffham players and the match officials, they were a disgrace and we trust that the Thurlow Nunn League will be taking steps to stamp out this kind of behavior in the future.

An unusual weekend for the Pedlars with their senior Saturday sides without fixtures and the Veterans Sunday game falling foul of the weather. An opportunity for the grounds team, the 'Black and White Barrows' to catch up on other maintenance jobs that play second fiddle to the pitch on match-days, so at least time well spent.

No mid-week fixtures for the First or Under 18's teams this week but back to full speed ahead next Saturday, the First Team travel to The Millfield, home of Hadleigh United, the Reserves host Buxton. A huge thanks to the George Hotel and the Greyhound Inn for their continued support by providing after match refreshments for the players and match officials this season, without their valued support the Club would be unable to offer sport at the highest standard facilities allow us to play at.

Many thanks in anticipation
