Pedlars bring home the points

The wind providing a spoiler away to Debenham LC, energy sapping and making football difficult. A scrappy start to the game, the Pedlars playing against the wind, Debenham having an early opportunity, the effort smashed over the bar from ten yards. Twenty five minutes into the game, further disappointment for the home-side, a goal disallowed, keeper Rix fouled whilst having two hands on the ball. Swaffham broke the deadlock in the twenty eighth minute, David Weaver-Pope crossing from the right hand wing, Kyle Plumb thumping into the right hand corner from ten yards at the front post. Debenham drew level on the stroke of half time being awarded a penalty by the Referee for an infringement which apparently was only seen by the Referee !
Despite the wind advantage in the second half, few opportunities on goal until the eighty eighth minute, Joe Jackson crossing from the right wing, met by the head of substitute Sam Carter into the left hand corner of the net. Sam's first, First Team goal for Swaffham couldn't come at a more important time. Debenham going down to ten men shortly afterwards, their substitute Matt Poxon seeing red after a terrible tackle on Captain Alex Vincent and soon afterwards a second yellow for foul language.
