Fantastic four keeps the Pedlars in the chase
Named by BBC Radio Norfolk's Nick Bowler as the game of the afternoon, fifth place Norwich CBS against third place Swaffham Town, a top table clash promising entertainment for all and the crowd not disappointed. The goals all in the first half and giving the visitors a mountain to climb to ever get back into the fixture.
Ryan Pearson opened the scoring in the fifteenth minute, heading a Nick Castellan corner at the near post from eight yards. Joe Jackson cashed in eight minutes later, an Alex Vincent shot blocked, Jackson on hand to smash in from twelve yards. Three minutes in the half remaining Vincent got his reward, a sortie down the left side to pass into the net beating the keeper at the near post. The Swaffham defence not to be outdone, on the stroke of time, a corner from the left hand side, Matthew Gilchrist picking up a loose ball and setting Dean Miller for a shot into the left hand corner of the goal.
The second half proving much tougher for the Pedlars, CBS finally finding their playing boots and testing keeper Tommy Rix. He maintained his clean sheet with two top drawer saves, the first low to his right hand side in the sixty fifth minute the second being big and strong on a one to one in the seventy ninth minute.
