Not a great Day

Swaffham's second string started brightly and it was no surprise when they took the lead, Askew broke clear to give the visitors the opening goal with a well taken shot, on 20 mins. The problem from this opening was that the Res. seemed to get it into there minds that they had the game won, this consequently invited the home team to take the game to the visitors. For long periods of the first half, after scoring, the Res. were under pressure, on one occassion the home team hit the bar, but they stood firm, and were glad to get to the ref's whistle for half time, still holding onto there lead.

The second half saw both teams have good chances, with Asprey going the closest, hitting the post with a stunning drive from 25yds. The home team deservedly equalised after a shot bobbled around the penalty area with nobody making a clearance, although skipper Hockton made a valient effort to get the ball away, in the ensueing scramble the ball found the back of the net, allowing St. Andrews there goal.

Not a good performance from Swaffham, who will have to improve very rapidly if they are to keep there promotion rivals at bay, most of whom had winning results on the day.
