Cornwall Brace Bruises Wanderers

Swaffham completed the double over Ipswich for this season, bringing hom the points from Humber Doucy Lane, Still without Greenwood(injured),Howling(Broken Leg),Voutt(Injured),Seales(Work) and Polski returning from injury, the ''Pedlars'' made the journey East.
Shafer opened the scoring on 9 mins. latching onto a through ball by Simmons and slotting past a static keeper. Further promising attacks by Plumb and Hunter came to nothing, and against the run of play, the home side equalised in the 29th min. Solid defensive work by Russell, Thompson, Rainford, and Spalding ensured that the home side did not further benefit during the first half.
Swaffham started the second half strongly and the pressure applied, paid off in the 50min when Cornwall knocked in from 12yards following a goal mouth scramble. The same player added his second in the 66min, a foul on the scorer, resulted in Russell sending in a free kick from 30 yds out another scramble and the predatory Cornwall cashed in again. On 67 mins Shafer was replaced by new signing from Downham Market, Tim Kavanagh, Matt Kenny replaced the double scorer on 83mins. The changes brought a fresh impetus which paid off with Kavanagh scoring on his returning debut, an excellent finish at the back post.
The team would like to thank those hardy supporters who made the trip to Ipswich.
