Swaffham still suffering from the loss of 11 players from the 1st team squad through injuries and work absences, travelled to Suffolk with a depleted team.
Not the best of starts was achieved when conceding in the second minute, unable to clear a ball crossed in from the left and passing across the face of the goal to be met by the no10 who miss hit and wrong footed Brookes in the visiting goal. Swaffham bounced back and saw Hemeter's shot unluckily hit the foot of the post from a Seaman free kick. Further chances falling to Shafer, and a tremendous volley from the experienced Seales flash across the goal mouth to be deflected corner. The ''Pedlars'' continued applying pressure and saw Russell latching onto a Shafer corner and driving narrowly wide from 25yds. The scoreline was evened in the 44th min. Following excellent dogged work from Kavanagh in mid-field, winning the ball and playing in Seales to powerfully shoot at goal, a Melford defender swung to clear only succeeding in turning it past his own keeeper into the net.
The second half saw opportunities at either end, with both keepers playing there part in making fine stops. Kavanagh carrying an injury was replaced by (smelly)Frost(thanks Hannah)in the 62 min. Melford scored the winner in the 70th min, a long through ball picked up and slotted past Brookes in the visitors goal.
