Perfect conditions on Saturday afternoon for football at Shomakers Lane, with both the weather and the playing surface, saw the ''Pedlars'' again conceding an early goal, then having to play catch-up. Brantham had the best of the play for the first twenty minutes and neeted after only 7 of these, from a goal mouth scramble. The pace and qualityn of the football improved and good chances were created by the home team but not converted, the best of these falling to Plumb and Paynter.
The second half again saw increasing Swaffham pressure with Brantham finding it difficult to get out of there own half. Despite fine work by the returning Hunter, and new signing Parkinson from an early corner, the home team were unable to draw level.Plumb crashed a cracking effort into the side netting and another returning from injury player Cornwall, hit the bar with an audacious effort, opportunities came and went, but lady luck was not smiling for Swaffham on the day. As always seems to happen, very much against the run of play,Brantham increased there lead in the 80th min, when a speculative effort from midfield took a wicked deflection, leaving Brookes in the home goal with no posssible chance of saving the goal or the game, for the home team.
