Pedlars back to winning ways...............
Following a string of recent cup defeats, the Pedlars picked up three precious points in the league with a convincing four nil victory away to bottom of the table, Cornard United. The over-night rain left the going heavy and the wind causing difficulties for both sides. An early chance, Swaffham winning a free kick, Matthew Parkinson's cross met by Michael Thompson, his volley just wide of the mark. Dean Miller unlucky, meeting an Alex Vincent corner, his header just wide but a second effort in the 16th minute finding the mark from a Jack Redhead free kick. The second came just seven minutes later, Vincent clipping the ball into the top corner, picking up on a through ball from Liam Reed. It should have been three on the stroke of half time, Vincent breaking forward and forcing the keeper to save twice, the ball finally put wide by Redhead.
The homeside held on for just ten minutes into the second half before Jack Redhead got his just reward, a Vincent shot parried by the keeper, Redhead mopping up the loose ball. The last goal came in the last minute of normal time, a great charging run on the left hand side by Parkinson, playing the ball in for Neil Goodbourn to pass into the net, scoring on his Swaffham debut.
