The teams all round performance results in a fine win over Bees of Debenham

Swaffham Town 6 Debenham LC 1

Another goal fest for the Pedlars. An anxious start for both teams, opportunities at both ends of the park in the opening minutes but the deadlock broken just nine minutes in, Jamie Buhlemann powering in to meet a perfectly weighted Alex Vincent corner with his head. Vincent making it two in the 26th minute, Jack Redhead providing the through ball, a touch by the defender to take the sting out of the pace and Vincent clipping over the keeper. Unchartered waters for the Swaffham side, a goalmouth scramble and Richard Cornwall to head home amongst the confusion, 3-0 up in the first half, the opposite to last week's fixture! The visitor's took one goal back on the stroke of half time, a kick and run break allowing the centre forward to keep the score respectable.

Debenham started the second half strong but soon had the wind taken from their sails, Joe Jackson netting in the 54th minute, latching onto a Buhlemann through ball, the shot always going the hit the net. A rally from the visitors brought the best out in Scott Cruickshank, the most notable, a brilliant reflex save to flick the ball over the bar, he then again stood strong on a number of occasions to block several of the oppositions attempts. Jackson bagged his second in the 69th minute, Michael Thompson playing Ashley St. John into space, drawing Jackson's defender and giving space for him to cash in on the assist. Jackson collected another match ball trophy with eight minutes to go, Jack Redhead providing a great through ball, no doubt with the finish.
Alex Vincent thought he had also added to his tally with a magnificently struck volley only to look up and see his effort chalked off for offside, he then almost added to the score line with a great run, rounding the keeper and seeing his effort hit the inside of the post and roll clear of the goal line.

The Pedlars are away next week to March Town, kick off 3pm. The Reserves host Costessy Sports at Shoemakers Lane, the 'A' Team are away to Mulbarton Wanderers 'A' in the Ben Smith Memorial Cup, both kick off at 2pm. The Under 18's are in action on Thursday evening, hosting Newmarket Town, kick off 7.45pm.
