History in the making at Shoemakers Lane.
An historic day for the Pedlars. Their first time in the Budweiser FA Cup and a great win against UCL Premier side Wisbech Town.
The Pedlars took the lead 17 minutes into the match with a tremendous free kick. Alex Vincent striking from 25 yards, into the top left hand corner of the net, leaving the Wisbech keeper floundering. Swaffham down to 10 men six minutes later, Mark Allibone harshly receiving red for an alleged elbow. The visitors equalised in the 34th minute, the suspicion of off-side over-ruled by the referee. The advantage returned just two minutes later, Jake Platten fouled as he made a strike, the ball hitting the net despite the foul. Swaffham battled on and dug deep, showing character and determination.
They held back the on-slaught from the visitor's,an inspired performance by Lee Brooks in goal and a back four of Loui Hockton, Dan Buhlemann, Matthew Parkinson and skipper Dean Miller. Swaffham thoroughly deserved the victory and will host Huntingdon in the next round in two weks time.
