Pedlars flying high
Still undefeated in the Thurlow Nunn First Division, the Pedlars collected a further three points, beating Team Bury 4-1. An attack in the first minute saw Rory Harper knock in a loose ball from six yards. Good play between Joe Jackson and Alex Vincent could have made it two, the final touch by Vincent too heavy and the ball passed over the bar. Team Bury countered and brought a fine save from stand-in goal keeper, Matty Castellan on the half hour. Vincent got his reward in the 32nd minute, receiving the ball facing away from goal, turning and shooting, finding thebottom left hand corner. Matthew Prudence came close shortly afterwards, Aaron Porter setting him clear on the left wing, Prudence cutting in and bringing the best out of the Bury keeper, forcing a corner. Jack Redhead taking the corner, Captain Dean Miller heading home in the 42nd minute. Jackson netted on the verge of half time, knocking in from a Vincent cross ball but was deemed to be off-side.
A strong start to the second half, saw Matthew Parkinson heading narrowly wide from a Redhead corner. The visitors got one back in the 64th minute, a sustained attack, the ball bundled into the not leaving Castellan no chance. Toby Hilliard came on as substitute for the tiring Redhead in the 71st minute and was straight in the action, two opportunities just passing wide of the post.
