The Pedlars back to league form
Despite difficult conditions for both teams, a fiercely contested,
excellent game of football for those braving the cold and wet on
Saturday. The Melford keeper, producing some inspired saves to keep
the visitors in the game as the away team tired in the second half.
The deadlock finally broken with five minutes to go, substitute Matthew
Castellan meeting an Alex Vincent corner, heading strongly into the top
right of the net. The Pedlars making sure of the win,Lewis Thompson
drilling home from 30 yards, the strike placed to the bottom right hand
corner, leaving the keeper no chance. A sound performance by Swaffham,
raising them to fourth position in the Thurlow Nunn First Division.
A spell of away games for the Pedlars, who next week travel to Suffolk to
play Debenham LC, 3pm kick off.
A good win midweek for the Under 18's, beating Wisbech St. Mary 3-0.
Goerge Hutton, Luke Reed and Matty Cousins on the score sheet.
This Thursday they are at home to Saffron Walden Town, kick off 7.45pm.
The Reserves were defeated 4-1 away to Caister and the 'A' Team drew
2-2 at Yaxham.
Next weekend the Reserves entertain Blofield United Reserves 14:30 kick off.
