"Pedlars" hit "Stow" for 4

Stowmarket Town 2 Swaffham Town 4

The Pedlars did not have it all plain sailing for their final away game of this year. An overcast sky and a very heavy pitch making difficult conditions for both teams. Swaffham were looking comfortable at half time, three nilup, following two lobbed goals from Rory Harper and Jack Redhead scoring directly from a corner, many further chances and opportunities not taken or missed. The Green's Meadow team came out to battle for the second half!
Swaffham's defence held firm until the 73rd minutewhen they conceded a well taken goal. Warning bells and whistles then sounded when Stow got a second five minutes later. The Pedlars dug in firm and fought hard. The game finally put to bed in added time, substitute Jake Platten with a driving run through the Stowmarket defence, unselfishly laying off for Alex Vincent to smash home.

Next Saturday they host Braintree Town Reserves, hoping to avenge their away defeat, kick ogg 3pm.
The festive Boxing Day fixture will see Dereham Town Reserves visit Shoemakers Lane for an 11 o'clock kick off. An ideal opportunity to blow away those Christmas cobwebs and clear the mind in the fresh air !

A great result for the Reserve Team, beating league leaders Waveney 2-1, goals from James Dougal and Charlie Gunner. Lee Goodsell's goal not enough for the 'A' Team who went down 2-1 awat at Tacolneston.
Next Saturday the Reserves are away to South Walsham the 'A' Team play North Elmham at home.

Mid week the Under 18's are at home on Thursday to play Wisbech Town, kick off 7.45pm.

Following the Boxing Day First Team fixture, the draw for the Hospital Cup semi-finals will be made, Gayton, Narborough, Castle Acre Swifts and Swaffham Town 'A' still in with a chance of lifting the trophy following the competitions finale on FA Cup Final day.

Swaffham Town FC would like to wish all of it's sponsors, members, players and supporters a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year, thank you for your support so far this season.......'Up the Pedlars'
