Unlucky town narrowly defeated at Shoemakers Lane.

Swaffham started the game on the front foot and nearly took the lead inside the first minute, Alex Vincent testing out Braintree's keeper, Oliver Green who fumbled the shot towards his own goal but managed to grab it second time round.

Swaffham continued to put pressure on the Braintree goal as the lively Vincent tests green once more, this time It was comfortable for the keeper.

Swaffham nearly took the lead on the 19th minute as Joe Jackson's shot rattle off the the bar before Allibone was flagged for offside.

Vincent kept on knocking on the Braintree's door but kept having no luck with shots going left, right and centre.

Braintree had their first chance on 26 minutes as Joe Maybanks shot is dragged wide.

Swaffham playing In the wind nearly took the lead as a corner whipped in by the lively Vincent is caught by the high gales swooped the ball right under Green's crossbar who managed to tip it onto the bar.

Braintree took the lead against against the run of play as Allibone drilled a ball In towards root shot was saved by Brook's but only into Goddards path who slots it away for 1-0 Braintree.

Swaffham started the second half on the front foot as Vincent continued to get shots on goal but just couldn't find a way past Green on the Braintree goal.

Swaffham continued to pile on the pressure and had another chance to draw level as a free kick is drifted in by Redhead which was only partly cleared by the Braintree defence to Swaffham's Dwayne Hockton who's effort is dragged wide.

Opportunity for Swaffham as man of the match, Alex Vincent drilled a ball across the 6 yard area but Jackson couldn't find that vital connection to tap it In.

It was Vincent who was creating all the chances, he found Jackson who's shot went blazing over the bar.

Vincent thought he had brought Swaffham level on 70 minute as his cross was caught up in the wind resulting in the ball hitting the crossbar.

Braintree should have put the game to bed in the 78th minute as the ball fell to Terell Miller who's shot cannoned off he post.

Swaffham continued to pile on the pressure in the final stages but couldn't find a goal which they truest deserved.
