Pedlars disappointment in Cup exit
The Pedlars exited their remaining Cup run with a 2-1 defeat to Whitton United following extra time. Swaffham should have put the game to bed in the first half, the wind having an influence, but chances missed that could have seen the Pedlars sitting with an advantage. Joe Jackson striking the bar, Alex Vincent unlucky, bravely challenging keeper and defender for his effort to go wide and Mark Allibone blasting over where a touch would have done !
The deadlock was broken in the second half, Jack Redhead converting a penalty, only for the visitors to equalise in the dying minutes of normal time. Whitton took the advantage in the first half of extra time, Swaffham having given their all, having nothing left in the tank to reply with. The last nail in the coffin was a controversial red card for skipper Dean Miller.
A weekend off for the Pedlars next Saturday, a number of players involved with an excursion abroad with the Community football scheme, we wish them an exciting visit and trust that they will return safely.
The 'A' Team were unlucky to loose 3-1 to Castle Acre Swifts in the Crown Fire Invitation Cup. Blake Stangroome netting for the Pedlars. Plenty of opportunity to turn the situation to an advantage in the competition.
Next Saturday they play at Shipdham in the Ben Smith Memorial Cup.
