A very good newly promoted Peterborough North Star team were too strong for a young Swaffham team at Peterborough. Swaffham included 3 16year old players to give them confidence and due other players commitments before the league starts in earnest on Aug 7th.
The visitors were 1 down at half time and concede 3 more in the second half to a team that were promoted last season and included some new signings of there own. The pedlars never gave up and all acquitted themselves well, hopefully learning from these experiences at this level. Some of these players were playing village and youth football this time last year, but they proved to be credit to manager/coach Paul Hunt and Swaffham Town, against there much more experienced opposition.
