Pedlars pre-season preparations are well under way
The rain almost put pay to the first pre-season friendly matches on Saturday. Firstly hampering the 140 mile journey north for our visitors from Surrey, Epsom and Ewell and secondly making marking the pitch virually impossible, due to the presistant deluge.
Kick off's were delayed, the first match, the respective First Teams, kicking off at 3pm. A well balanced fixture with opportunities at both ends, the deadlock finally broken with three minutes to go, the visitors centre forward heading in from ten yards from a perfectly weighted cross.
The second match saw the Reserve sides meet, Epsom and Ewell the stronger, taking a lead in the opening ten minutes and then gifted a second within minutes, an indirect free kick within the area following a back pass. However it provided the opportunity for players to display their skills and the management team to put in place the hard work delivered in training. The visitors finishing strong and eventually six nil up.
