Pedlars poised for season start
The result inconsequential, but the opportunity to play a quality visiting side considerably important prior to the season start. Leicestershire visitors Thurmaston, provided a strong and talented squad to test Paul Hunt's men, exactly what the Doctor ordered. The eventual result was a 2 - 1 win for the home side, Aaron Clifford and new signing, Blake Stangroome netting for the Pedlars, the visitors scoring from the spot with ten minutes to go, providing an exciting finish to the meeting.
A really good performance from the Pedlars with still 3 or 4 1st squad members missing, for various reasons.
Next Saturday, Swaffham start their 2011/2012 campaign in earnest, welcoming Cornard United to Shoemakers Lane, kick off 3pm. The following Tuesday evening (16 August), hoping to continue their form of last season, Thetford Town are the visitors, kick off 7.45pm.
