The spectators were entertained by a gritty, determined display which gave insight into the pride and passion within the Pedlars squad. Further injury concerns early on in the match, Blake Stangroome replaced by Jake Platten in the 22nd minute, the home side then conceding a goal straight away. Platten then starting the move to balance the score, setting Alex Vincent free down the left wing, his cross met and clinically finished by Joe Jackson. The best was brought out of Dean Mayes minutes later, stretching high to his right side to deflect one handed, a goalward shot from twenty yards. The visitors made it two on the stroke of half time.
Swaffham dug deep in the second half and started playing the better football, Long Melford however struck the first blow, hitting home a third in the 55th minute. The Pedlars heads stayed up and the fight back began. Matthew Parkinson leading from the front, controlloing from a corner and finishing from fifteen yards, all to play for with 20 minutes remaining. The equaliser to making it 3-3, a fiery finish by Aaron Clifford. He was further rewarded a minute later with his second in the 76th minute. The Pedlars held on till the end, a deserved three points and one of the best performances by the side this season.
A rest for the First Team next week, Shoemakers Lane will be hosting Northwold Sports and Social Club in the 'A' Teams Central and South Norfolk League fixture.
